Stunning Jaguar limousine fit for a 21st century Prime Minister was unveiled in London. Jaguar’s new XJ limousine will carry a hefty premium over the outgoing model when it arrives in Australia in the second quarter of next year. The cheapest 2010 XJ will cost $33,200 more than the car it replaces, while the asking price for the new top-of-the-range V8 model is almost double the current XJ price at $362,800 for the long wheelbase version. The new four-door flagship XJ comes equipped with an array of gizmos and a big panoramic glass roof. Gadgetry includes a high-def TV with dual-view technology on an 8-inch touch screen and a 1,200 Watt Bowers & Wilkins hi-fi with 20 speaker surround sound with iPod docking and voice-control for radio, CD, phone and sat-nav. Interior chrome and piano-black trim – designed to sparkle like jewellery – provide eye-catching contrasts to the wide choice of crafted leather and veneer surfaces. Supermodel Elle MacPherson, who was present during the unveiling of the new luxury XJ, is herself planning to buy one. Jaguar said that the new flagship XJ blends “elegant, contemporary design with comfort, luxury and sporting style.” |
