2011 Buick Regal CXL

GM has announced the pricing for the 2011 Buick Regal. The 2011 Buick Regal is going to start at $26,995 for the Regal CXL that is powered by the 182-hp 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine. The CXL will be the only trim offered for the 2011 model year with others going to be added for 2012. The Regal's CXL turbo model will start at $29,495 and is powered by a turbocharged 220-hp 2.0L engine. The turbo model will be available late-summer 2010. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic. The 2.4L gets 30 mpg on the highway, while the 2.0L gets 29 mpg.
"The Regal is the next chapter in Buick's transformation and we're excited to bring this Buick sport sedan to market," said Craig Bierley, Buick Marketing Director. "The dynamic driving experience and intuitive, personal technologies offer customers a premium sport sedan for great value."

Big hump Somma 2010 redefines the aesthetic of custom motorcycles

Defying the old shibboleth that general aesthetic of custom motorcycles remain the same irrespective of different paint job and details, Southern California artist and ex motorcyclist, Mark Dugally comes up with Project Somma 2010. This custom motorcycle from Mark completely redefines the term.

The inspiration for the project Somma 2010 came from Naples, Italy, where Dugally hiked to the rim of Mount Vesuvius. Vesuvius has a distinctive double hump and a caldera formed by the collapse of an older peak called Somma. And as per Mark, much of his work is inspired by decay.

Mark found this bike with some elegant and pristine parts but underneath all the metal had heavy rust patina and archaic bronze-type finishing. He chiseled is to the present form and characterizes it elegant. This bike features original frame, Rotax engine is mostly stock and rest of the parts are reworked and restyled with composite bodywork.

Further, the custom bike has a tough stuff, covered in pickup bed liner, DuPont paint, and a big hump on the top of the fuel tank not only gives it devilish look but also houses high beam lights, the Dakota Digital display, a talking alarm system, a bank angle lean sensor and the bike’s electronics. Mark has tagged this amazing bike in the range of $25,000.

Ducati to pull out of World Superbikes at the end of 2010

Ducati issued a press release yesterday, announcing that they are pulling out of World Superbikes at the end of this year. ‘Ducati, having participated with a factory team in every edition of the World Superbike Championship since it began in 1988, winning 16 Manufacturers’ world titles and 13 Riders’ world titles along the way, has decided to limit its participation to the supply of machines and support to private teams,’ says the press release.

‘This decision is part of a specific strategy made by Ducati, the aim being to further increase technological content in production models that will arrive on the market in the coming years. In order to achieve this objective, the company’s technical resources, until now engaged with the management of the factory Superbike team, will instead be dedicated to the development of the new generation of hypersport bikes, in both their homologated and Superbike race versions,’ says Gabriele Del Torchio, President and CEO of Ducati.

With this, it seems Ducati’s primary focus will now be on trying to win the MotoGP world championship next year, with Valentino ‘The Doctor’ Rossi. With his legendary skills, The Doctor will also be helping Ducati with development work on the 1198’s replacement, which is due to come out in 2012.
