2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca - Front Angle Picture

With aggressive suspension, chassis and aerodynamic tuning, Laguna Seca package trims the race-inspired 2012 Mustang Boss 302 down to its essential elements, taking the new boss 302 to track-ready condition. Named to commemorate the first-place Boss 302 finish at the 1970 Trans-Am series opener, the 2012 Boss with Laguna Seca package will come in a limited-production. The 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca is powered by high-winding 440-hp 5.0-liter V8 as...

NEW CARS>> FACTORY FIVE '33 HOT ROD

|

Sunday, January 16, 2011

OK, so it probably sounds strange that there is a NEW car model called the "'33 Hot Rod", but I think that the latest offering from Factory Five Racing certainly qualifies as a "new" car. While old school hot rods are not lacking in character or coolness, the antiquated cars leave a lot to be desired as far as chassis design and performance potential goes. Factory Five Racing is well known for their popular Cobra kits and their latest design puts combines all of their sports and racing experience with all the style and simplicity of traditional hot rods.
As the name suggests, style-wise the car is based on the iconic early '30s Fords which were (and still are) very popular among rodders. The CAD-designed chassis was developed with performance in mind and weighs in at just over 2,000lbs! The chassis includes front coilover suspension and rear suspension derived from Factory Five's Challenge race cars. The roadster body (with optional hardtop) and a full interior are also included as part of the kit.
The buyer will supply their choice of engine and transmission (the car comes set up for classic or modern Ford small blocks), a rear end, wheels/tires, and paint and just a few other minor finishing touches. All of the hard and expensive work is done with this car, and with the modern chassis design and weight savings, these cars will be serious performers even at moderate power levels.
The whole kit comes in at just under $20,000. That figure may seem pricey to some, but it's pretty reasonable when you consider the amount of engineering that went into it, how complete the kit is, and how much performance potential it offers.
In a perfect world I would have two of them. One with a carb'd small block, whitewalls and steelies and another with a Honda F20C and some super wide TE37's...

Ford’s Police Interceptor Outpaces Competition at LA Sheriff’s Department Testing

|

Sunday, November 21, 2010

The American police car segment is heating up with equally interesting offers from GM (chevy caprice), Chrysler (Dodge charger) and ford. In their latest battle, the Dearborn automaker's Taurus-based AWD Police Interceptor achieved the fastest lap time in tests carried out by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department (LASD), signaling that it's a worthy successor for the Crown Victoria.

VIDEO: Ford Shows Off 2012 Focus ST on the Road

|

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

For anyone secretly hoping that the Ford Focus ST Paris Show car would look better in motion, we're sorry to say it does not. Somehow this video makes that 'gaping mouth' grille look even worse, and all the odd creases and curves stand out even more. That 'Tangerine Scream' paintwork isn't doing it any favors either.
Admittedly, the Paris Show Car makes the old, pre-facelift ST look boring and understated by comparison, but is it really better to be garishly ugly than conservatively dull? At least things are better under the bonnet. A 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder good for 250 hp should make the new ST a real corker when it launches in 2012, as will the rumored dual-clutch Powershift 'box.
Here's hoping Ford reconsiders the styling before then. Oh well, at least if you're driving it, you can't see that hideous gaping grille.

2011 Ford Explorer is an outstanding car

|

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

In President Obama’s opinion, the redesigned 2011 Ford Explorer is “an outstanding car.” He checked out this car when he went on a tour last Thursday at Ford’s Chicago assembly plant.

Just last week, Obama took the 2011 Chevrolet Volt for a 40-foot test-drive and he commented that the electric car was “pretty smooth.” He told the workers at Ford that his most recent car was a Ford Escape, which he describes to be “spiffy.” He shared that he bought the car two months before he got Secret Service (protection) and since they won’t let him drive it anymore, it only has 2,000 miles after five years. During this third visit to a domestic auto plant in a week, Obama announced a new $250-million Export-Import Bank loan guarantee for Ford. He said that this loan guarantee will “help Ford export more than 200,000 cars and trucks” to up to 90 countries. He also said that even with massive amounts of federal aid, the domestic auto industry is still “not back to where it needs to be.”
