The Highlander is a midsize crossover SUV, introduced at the New York Auto Show in 2000, and is undergoing a refresh in its second generation of production. Powering the 2011 Toyota Highlander is either a 2.7-liter inline four-cylinder engine or a 3.5-liter V-6. The four-cylinder will be standard in Base trim models while the V-6 will be an available option. Conversely, SE models will come standard with the V-6 and will have the 2.7-liter engine as an available option in 2WD versions. Highlander Hybrid will also feature the 3.5 L V-6.
